This Cookie Policy explains how KindMeans uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit this website. We use very few cookies, and none of them are used for advertising.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site remember certain information between page loads or visits. Cookies set by this site are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other services (like a CDN or analytics provider) are called third-party cookies.

2. What cookies we use

Essential cookies

These are required for basic site security and functionality. They cannot be turned off.

Name Purpose Provider Expires
__cf_bm Bot management. Distinguishes between human and automated traffic to protect the site. Cloudflare 30 minutes
_cfuvid Rate limiting. Helps Cloudflare manage traffic from the same client. Cloudflare Session

Consent cookies

These remember your cookie preference so we do not have to ask every time you visit.

Name Purpose Provider Expires
cf_consent Stores your cookie consent choice. Cloudflare / KindMeans 1 year

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and content are useful so we can improve the site. It is loaded through Cloudflare Zaraz, a tag manager that runs on our hosting rather than injecting third-party scripts directly into your browser. Google Analytics may set its own cookies on your device and collects data about your visit, such as the pages you view and your general region. We use this in aggregate and do not use it to identify you personally.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels such as Facebook Pixel, or scripts that follow you across other websites to build a marketing profile.

Name Purpose Provider Expires
_ga Distinguishes visitors to measure overall site usage. Google Analytics 2 years
_ga_<id> Keeps track of a visit so page views are counted as one session. Google Analytics 2 years

What we do not use

  • Advertising or targeting cookies
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Any cookies that access the numbers you enter into our tools (the tools run entirely in your browser)

3. Your tool data

Our browser tools run entirely on your device. The numbers you enter stay in the page while you use a tool and are never sent to us or any third party. When you close or reload the page, those numbers are gone. The tools do not use cookies, and they do not save your inputs anywhere.

4. How to control cookies

You have several options for managing cookies:

  • Cookie preferences. Use the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of any page to review or update your choices.
  • Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. This may affect how some parts of the site work, but the browser tools will continue to function since they do not use cookies.
  • Browser-specific instructions:
    • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
    • Firefox: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Site Data
    • Safari: Preferences > Privacy
    • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions

5. Updates to this policy

If we add new features that change how cookies are used, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Check back periodically if you want to stay current.
